A first assessment of the trial at Ba Vi took place in June 1995 at the age of 14 months. It comprised assessment of height and diameter. Results are presented in Dien (1997), and showed no significant differences between provenances.
The provenance trial at Lang Hanh has prior to the present assessment been measured in 1992 and 1995 at the age of 18 and 46 months, respectively (Dien 1997). The evaluation comprised assessment of height and diameter and showed significant differences between provenances. The local Lang Hanh seedlot (01519/8500) had the fastest height growth followed by Doi Inthanon from Thailand (01523/8500) and Thac Prenn (01518/8500) from Vietnam.
