Pinus kesiya International Provenance Trials: Overview

bullet1 Colombia

bullet2 History of the trials

Smurfit Carton de Colombia established two provenance trials of Pinus kesiya in 1990.

The trials have been assessed for survival in February 1991, 10 months after planting. A second assessment has been carried out in 1998, which included height, diameter and foxtailing.

It was planned to include the two Colombian trials in the joint assessment programme, but because of security problems in the area, the joint assessment had to be cancelled.

The results presented here therefore refer to the 1998 assessment carried out by Smurfit Carton de Colombia. The 1998 assessment data set has been kindly provided by Smurfit, and analysed following the same methodoloy as in the other trials.
