This summary presents the results of a joint assessment of two Pinus kesiya provenance trials established by the Research Centre for Forest Tree Improvement (RCFTI), Forest Science Institute, Vietnam as part of an international series of provenance trials of the species. The trials are situated at Ba Vi in the North of Vietnam and at Lang Hanh in the Central Highlands. The trials were established in 1993 and 1991 respectively.The joint RCFTI/DFSC field assessment took place in April 1998 by a team led by Phi Quang Dien and Hua Ving Tung of RCFTI and Christian Pilegaard Hansen of DFSC.
